about

The inspiration for this song came after my trip from Kansas City in May 2016.

I went on this trip without my husband and alone with Evan, who was 22 months at the time, and despite all the help from others it was still physically and emotionally difficult. We were very blessed and fortunate to have received several prophetic ministry sessions. On the first couple of days I received pretty general prophetic words. For example, “You are doing great as a mom”, “God is so proud of you”. The first time I went to Kansas City in March 2013 I had received such an accurate and detailed prophetic word to the point where I was bawling my eyes out because they had called out things that were buried deep in my heart (it was like she read my mind). I was expecting something similar this time around, but was disappointed.

On my second to last day at Kansas City, I dropped Evan off at his class and I was looking forward to having a longer undistracted time with God in the prayer room. I even signed up for prophetic ministry too. 10 minutes in, all of a sudden I get a text message from the Children Equipping Center saying that I needed to pick Evan up because he wasn’t doing well….so there goes that idea about having a nice undistracted time with God. As I was driving to pick him up, I heard the Holy Spirit whisper to me that He wanted me to learn how to hear His voice even in the chaos and the distractions of life.

So I come back to the prayer room in the afternoon and Evan is napping – yay. I signed up for more prophetic ministry, but there were no slots available and it was all booked up. So I just sat in the prayer room. And then God surprised me! One of the prayer leaders asked if I was traveling from Canada and they slotted me in. During the prophetic session, the lady who prophesied over me confirmed what the Holy Spirit spoke to me in the morning. This is what she said:

“Take a few moments here and there with the Lord as you can, with little ones it can be pretty busy, but to take those moments and turn inward, practicing the presence of God, where you take time in your daily routine, like monks of old, or the desert fathers where they would be in the middle of gardening or dishes or whatever they were doing in the practical word in seeking his face, seeking the Lord. I feel like you are to do likewise where you are to seek the Lord in the midst of all that you are doing and turn inward and look to the Lord. I feel like that is who you are, that you are a woman you cultivate intimacy with the Holy Spirit, you are called to go deep in God and enjoy Him and His presence and I feel that out of that place you are going to feel the love of God more, He wants to strengthen you in this hour. The places where you felt drained or overextended a little bit, where it is A LOT FOR YOU, you were designed for Mary of Bethany to sit at the feet of the Lord and even when you feel like a fish out of water so to speak because you have to be over here doing things maybe you feel like you have to be here for a little bit more…He wants you to know that it is all holy unto Him that He sees your heart and He loves you, and it is ok to take time even In your thought life just turn to the Lord and say God I love you and it is enough. And He is strengthening you in that place He wants to refresh you in that place.”

Then on our final day at Kansas City, another lady came shared a prophetic word with me:

I saw a battlefield and in the middle, was a door and I heard a voice from Revelation 4 saying, “Come up here. In the midst of the battlefield there is this door for you and it is called rest.” Hebrews 4:11, “Be diligent to enter that place of rest.” As I go through this door a table is set before me and it is in the midst of the battle and in the mist of my enemies that He prepares a table in the midst of all this. Entering the rest, in the book of kings when he established the Sabbath He said this, I have established this with the Jews that I might sanctify you. That is what the rest is for, for sanctification. He wants you to come rest in Him so He can sanctify you in that moment of rest.

The song At My Table is based on the two prophetic words I received in Kansas City. It is an invitation from the Lord to come to His Table even in the midst of the busyness and chaos of life. It is the song that the Father sings over each and every single one of us. I pray that God will minister to you through this song.

lyrics

Verse 1:
Come up here
Open the door
Here I’ve set the table for you
Turn your gaze
Behold your Lord
Here I’ve set the table for you

Verse 2:
When you're drained
Stretched beyond control
Here I’ve set the table for you
When pressure builds
Emotions overflow
Here I’ve set the table for you

Chorus:
Here at my table
There is rest for your soul
Even in the heat of day green pastures await
Here at my table
You will be made whole
Streams of living water sanctify your soul

Verse 3:
Even in
The midst of the war
Here I’ve set the table for you
When the battle
Spins out of control
Here I’ve set the table for you

Bridge:
Feed on me, talk to me
Turn to me, look to me
I want to strengthen you
